Leadership
The Fraternity and Sorority Community at Florida Tech prides itself on the opportunities it offers students for leadership development. Within each chapter, as well as within the Fraternity/Sorority community, there are numerous opportunities for members to assume leadership positions. Whether chairing a committee for Greek Week, coordinating the chapter's recruitment efforts, serving as president of the chapter, or serving on the Interfraternity or Panhellenic councils – Fraternity and Sorority life provides students invaluable opportunities to develop life skills. The Fraternity/Sorority community encourages students to become involved as leaders in other student organizations as well, and strives to develop individuals who will continue to be strong leaders throughout their lives.
Scholarship
Academic excellence is one of the ideals upon which Fraternities and Sororities were founded. Our community supports the premise that academic responsibilities should unquestionably receive the highest priority throughout college. To this end, fraternities and sororities promote scholarship by providing opportunities for members to develop critical skills and engage in issue-oriented discussions outside of the classroom. Academic excellence is rewarded through honor societies and award banquets. In addition, a variety of creative educational programs and speakers have been initiated by members in the community. Many chapters also have study hours and provide incentive programs to reward high academic performance.
Philanthropy

Fraternity and Sorority chapters demonstrate a strong commitment to community service (hands-on activities directly benefiting others) and philanthropic endeavors (raising money for charitable organizations). Each chapter at Florida Tech donates thousands of dollars annually to various philanthropies. In addition, the Fraternity and Sorority members volunteer hundreds of hours of community service to the citizens of Brevard County.
Friendship
When choosing a fraternity or sorority, students look for a comfortable "fit" - a place where they share values and interests with other members. The chapter serves as a place where friends become family and the friendships literally last a lifetime. Fraternities and sororities also give members the opportunity to network with alumni/ae and interact with mentors who have made a successful transition from college to the workforce. The Fraternity/Sorority system provides a wide variety of events which help bring members of different chapters together, whether through educational workshops and lectures, social events, retreats or service projects.
Recruitment
“Rush” and “Recruitment” are a terms that Fraternities and Sororities use to describe the process of membership enrollment. New students will have the opportunity to go through the recruitment process at Florida Tech at the beginning of the fall semester.
